Best CHEAP Haircuts in Bangkok

Updated: Apr 16

Ready to shake up your hairstyle without shaking out your wallet? Bangkok's got your back! I've explored the best barbers for you to get a great hairdo for cheap! 💈🤑

Services are generally very affordable in Thailand, so it's not uncommon to find cheap hairdressers around town. However, stumbling upon exceptionally good barbershops that can compete with the pricier options in Bangkok is much rarer. Here are my most favorite, best cheap barbershops in Bangkok:

Samrat Salon Cheap Barber bangkok thailand hairdresser

1. Samrat Salon

🏷️ Haircut Price: ฿120

💈Services: Haircut, Shave, Wash, Dry & more

Located in Tao Poon, Samrat Salon is your best option for affordable hair services if you live north of the center. They are typically open from 10:00 to 20:00 and operate on a walk-in basis, so no appointment is necessary. However, I recommend contacting them to confirm their opening hours for the day, as they may vary slightly.

Bridge Joey Cheap Barber bangkok thailand hairdresser

2. Joey Barber

🏷️ Haircut Price: ฿100

💈Services: Haircut, Shave

Nobody would ever suspect that one of the best, cheap hairdressers in Bangkok is located under this bridge between Phra Khanong & On Nut! Joey Barber is one of the many hairdressers residing here. If you want to know more about this area, I highly recommend you read this article by my friend Todd Ruiz. There are many barbershops that offer great haircuts for as little as ฿100. It just so happens that my friends and I prefer to visit Joey's place. He never disappoints!

Anusak Barber Cheap Barber bangkok thailand hairdresser

3. Anusak Barber

🏷️ Haircut Price: ฿160

💈Services: Haircut, Shave, Coloring, Wash, Dry, Picking ears & more)

This barbershop is renowned for its vintage haircuts and shaves. It's the newest place on this list but has managed to carve out a niche for a young Thai audience that seeks professional, contemporary hairdos with an affordable price tag.

Ketthong Hair Hairdresser Cheap Barber bangkok thailand hairdresser

4. Ketthong Barber

🏷️ Haircut Price: ฿120

💈Services: Haircut, Shave, Coloring, Wash and Dry for men & women)

Unfortunately, my visit to Ketthong Hair in Ekkamai was fairly short, as they had a full salon and did not permit filming inside. I have included this place on my list after it was recommended to me by many of my friends. Ketthong has been around for a long time and is one of the best places in Bangkok to get a affordably priced haircut in the center of the city.

Saladaeng Barber Silom Best Cheap Barber bangkok thailand hairdresser

5. Saladaeng Barber

🏷️ Haircut Price: ฿160 - ฿200

💈Services: Haircut, Shave, Coloring, Wash and Dry for men & women)

This little barbershop on the second floor of Soi Silom, just a minute away from the BTS station, has built a reputation as one of the absolute best affordable hairdressers in Bangkok. Popular among Thais and tourists alike, Saladaeng Barber is the first full-service hair salon that opened in Bangkok more than four decades ago! They have been featured by several international news outlets and magazines like BBC and Big Chilli. If you're in the area and in need of a haircut, do not miss paying them a visit. They've stayed true to their profession and prices, and that's why people love these guys.

Red Pork on Rice Bangkok hole in a wall restaurant cheap eats

Tip: There is an amazing hole-in-the-wall restaurant just next door, called Nai Meng! They serve one of the best red pork on rice (Kao Moo Dang) dishes in town. It's perfect for catching a little food break and experiencing some genuine Southeast Asian cuisine in an authentic setting. 🍚

💇‍♂️

No more bad hair days! What is your most favorite barber in Bangkok?*

*I like Black Amber a lot btw. might feature them on a Vlog soon...

Patpong - The Secret History of Bangkok's Notorious Nightlife District 💃🏻

This episode uncovers Patpong's evolution, from its roots in a banana plantation to one of Southeast Asia's most modern business & nightlife districts, which was center stage to covert CIA operations during the Secret War in Laos. Discover the impact of Air America, expat bars post-Vietnam War, and the notorious figures who called Patpong home. Join me as I interview the owner of the legendary Bar Madrid and a former Air America pilot, revealing untold stories of covert operations, nightlife, and infamous characters like Jack Shirley, Tony Poe & Charles Sobhraj, "The Serpent." Explore the intriguing intersections of history, war, and nightlife that shaped Patpong into the vibrant area it is today. ⚠️Important Correction: Coppola denies that Poe was a primary influence for Colonel Kurtz and says the character was loosely based on Special Forces Colonel Robert B. Rheault. Although the similarities to Tony Poe are striking, and it’s widely stated online & in museums, it was never confirmed by the director himself. --------- 📕 Bangkok Babylon | Giveaway I give away one copy of this Bangkok classic by Jerry Hopkins, who encountered, talked to & wrote stories about many of the character from this episode.
